Whether you are a student interested in joining one of the 450+ registered student organizations (RSO) on any Georgia State campus, starting a new RSO, or are already a member or leader of an RSO looking for resources this site will provide you with the information and resources you need.

Students at Georgia State who get involved with a student organization have a higher average GPA and are more likely to graduate than those students who do not.

A registered student organization (RSO) is an organization that is officially recognized by Georgia State. These organizations completed the process to become registered as well as maintain their registered status through the annual re-registration process. All active registered student organizations can be found on the database Panther Involvement Network (PIN). This database allows student organizations to maintain a profile page, showcase events, manage memberships, store organization documents and more.

Registered student organizations receive benefits in order to assist in supporting and maintaining the organization's purpose. Benefits of being a registered student organization include the following:

Listed on the Panther Involvement Network (PIN)
Reserve meeting rooms and event space
Petition for student activity fee funding and other funding opportunities
Promote or advertise the organization on campus

Academic/Professional

These student organizations are related to specific academic disciplines and/or career paths to support and enhance the academic goals of the university. Some organizations may be local chapters of a state, national or international organization. Organizations in this category can be found on PIN here.

Activism/Awareness

These student organizations actively support an idea or cause and work to effect change (e.g. social, systemic, economic or environmental). Organizations in this category can be found on PIN here.

Arts/Media & Music/Performance

These student organizations primarily focus on the creation and/or appreciation of fine/creative/performing arts and media, such as newspapers, magazines, film, radio, or television. These organizations may offer opportunities for students to express their creativity in various capacities or include opportunities for students to experience performance entertainment. Cultural/Multicultural

These student organizations share a commonality of cultural experiences, such as customary beliefs, race, ethnicity, values, attitudes, and practices. These organizations offer a lively social and educational environment for students and promote preserving cultural heritage and identity. Organizations in this category can be found in PIN here.

Graduate

These student organizations primarily provide a benefit or service to graduate students at Georgia State and should be open for any graduate student to join. Organizations in this category can be found in PIN here.

Honor Societies

These student organizations recognize students who excel academically or as leaders among their peers, often with a specific academic discipline or affiliation with a university department. Membership in honor societies is typically based on GPA. Organizations affiliated with nationally recognized honor societies and academic honors. Political

These student organizations primarily focus on a specific political party or issue and promote/educate around political views. A political student organization relates to or deals with the structure or affairs of government, politics, or the state; and/or is influenced by partisan interests. Religious/Spiritual/ Fellowship

These student organizations focus on supporting and nurturing students' spiritual and faith life based on the shared beliefs of each group. Organizations in this category can be found on PIN here.

Service/Volunteer

Community service student organizations include organizations that mainly focus on providing community service to the campus and community. Organizations in this category can be found on PIN here.

Social Fraternities & Sororities

Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) student organizations only include chapters from Interfraternity Council (IFC), Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), or Panhellenic Council (PC). Organizations in this category can be found on PIN here.

Social/Recreational

These student organizations meet students' needs for socialization and access to structured or unstructured recreational activities. Organizations in this category can be found on PIN here.

Special Interest

These student organizations provide a wide range of purposes that encourages interest in a topic not necessarily related to other categories. These student organizations are groups that encourage social interaction around a shared interest or theme. Organizations in this category can be found on PIN here.

Sports Club

These are student organizations that provide opportunities for students with common interests to participate and compete in a variety of activities. Additional requirements and approvals are required for these organizations through Recreational Services. Sports Clubs are limited to only selecting a campus category and "Sports Club" as their categories during the registration process. Organizations in this category can be found on PIN here.

Student Governance/Councils

These organizations exist to facilitate student self-governance. This may include self-governing coalitions for RSOs that share similar interests. Organizations in this category can be found on PIN here.

What is the Panther Involvement Network (PIN)?

The Panther Involvement Network (PIN) is an online community for students at Georgia State. Students can browse the over 450+ active RSOs and departments at Georgia State, review upcoming events or find information about any organization that may be of interest.

Student leaders of a RSO can also submit forms for vehicle rentals, student activity fee funding, late-night events and much more.

Fraternity & Sorority Life

Fraternity & Sorority Life oversees the social Greek-letter organizations on the Georgia State Atlanta campus. Fraternity & Sorority Life provides students with an opportunity to make our large Atlanta Campus feel a little smaller by joining a built-in network within the Greek community.

Sport Clubs

All current recreation members are eligible to join a club. Faculty, staff, alumni and Perimeter students are also eligible to join a club but may be excluded from competitive play.

Student Media

Student Media includes five organizations: Album 88, Neo Network (NeoN), New South, The Signal and Underground. These groups provide students with opportunities in audio, video, print journalism and literature.
