Student Civic Engagement prepares students for their public lives as citizens, members of communities and professionals in society by providing civic education programming and service opportunities that respond to societal issues and concerns.
Ellin McDonough - Director
Ellin McDonough (She/Her) As Director of Student Civic Engagement, Ellin leads efforts to engage students in service to the greater Atlanta community from all six campuses. With more than 15 years of experience working in higher education and social work, she is motivated to develop human talent that is prepared and ready to make a difference in the civic life of our communities. Ellin’s interest areas are strengthening workforce development, increasing literacy, and developing fair and affordable housing. Ellin holds a M.Ed. in Counseling degree from Winthrop University.
Morgan Connor - Coordinator

Morgan Connor (She/Her) – Morgan is a current Ph.D. student here at Georgia State in the Social Foundations of Education Program. She is passionate about educational justice, and ensuring that students have access to an equitable, liberatory education. She holds her B.A. in Applied Linguistics from Georgia State, and her M.Ed. in Urban Education from Vanderbilt University. She is a life-long Atlanta resident and is excited to be continuing work in her community!
