FAQs
Spotlight
Events are free to current Georgia State students unless it is otherwise stated for a particular event. This is made possible by the student fees that are paid along with tuition.
There are two ways to be involved with Spotlight: join a committee or apply to be an executive board member. Committee members are given the opportunity to be part of the event planning and execution process. Applications to join a committee are always open. Board members are student leaders who work directly with their program advisors to coordinate year-round events. The application and hiring process occurs in the spring semester of every academic year.
Yes! There is a Celebrations and Collaborations chair dedicated to serving as a liaison between Spotlight and other organizations. Contact us for collaboration opportunities.
Spotlight plans all types of events for the student body! While our board is categorized by different areas, those are not limitations to the type of programs we implement. It can range from game nights, arts and crafts, block parties, showcases, and more! Whether you’re looking to participate in something intimate or attend something large-scale, Spotlight has it for you.
Spotlight Programs Board (SPB) is a university-sponsored, student-driven department that is dedicated to providing quality programs at little or no cost for the Georgia State campus. Made up of nine committees, the board hires students every year to plan events according to the defined goal of each committee. Volunteers are an integral part in the success of the program board by providing support in the planning process. In addition, volunteers can attend the events free of charge.
