About the Georgia State Counseling Center
The Georgia State Counseling Center continues to be committed to ensuring access to mental health support services. Through innovative practices and effective intervention, over the past six years, the center has increased access to serve 65 percent more students. In 2019-20, the center conducted more than 12,000 appointments.
This year, students will not only be eligible to utilize the suite of services offered by the counseling center, but students will also benefit from expanded mental health services funded and provided through the University System of Georgia Mental Health Initiative. This includes a partnership to expand counseling services through Christie Campus Health (CCH), as well as comprehensive suicide prevention consultation in partnership with the Jed Foundation.
This partnership is intended to increase timely access to a range of mental health services during the spring, summer and fall semesters of 2021 as students continue to navigate academic responsibilities and the unprecedented circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic. This means that enrolled Georgia State students will be eligible to engage in services provided by the university counseling center or they can participate in the quality services available with CCH, depending on individual student circumstances and need.
Students on all campuses can connect to services offered by the counseling center by calling 404-413-1640 or USG CCH Mental Health Services by calling 1-833-874-0014.
