Looking for a way to stay cool this summer? Spotlight Programs Board has a solution. Spotlight oversees Cinefest Film Theater, a 133-seat student-run movie theater in operation since 1991 that shows blockbuster movies, independent films, foreign films, documentaries, Atlanta premieres and cult classics completely FREE to students.
General admission for non-GSU students is only $5 per person. Check out the movies that are scheduled for this summer below.
- June 3 - 5 Kung Fu Panda 4 - 12, 2 and 4 p.m.
- June 10 - The Iron Claw - 12 and 3 p.m.
- June 17 - Mulan - 12, 2 and 4 p.m.
- June 24 - Creed - 12 and 3 p.m.
- July 1 - Forrest Gump - 12 and 3 p.m.
- July 8 - Dune Part 1 at 12 p.m. and Part 2 at 3 p.m.
- July 15 - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - 12 and 3 p.m.
- July 22 - Jurassic Park - 12 and 3 p.m.
- July 29 - Crazy Rich Asians - 12 and 3 p.m.
There will be a special Cinefest showing, "Cinema Under the Stars" on Saturday, August 24 at 7 p.m. in Hurt Park. The movie title has not been selected yet. Send movie title suggestions to [email protected].
Outside food or beverages are not permitted inside the theater. Popcorn, beverages, candy and snack items can be purchased from the theater concession stand prior to and during movie operations.
