Students lined up in droves at the door for Spotlight Programs Board’s Welcome Back Comedy Show. The comedy show was a part of an entire week that involved a series of events welcoming students back to campus. After two years of primarily hybrid and virtual activities as a result of the pandemic, there was a sense of excitement and thrill to enjoy live entertainment in person on Georgia State’s campus.
This year’s comedy show was hosted by comedian Nema Williams, as featured on Comedy Central, BET, Starz, Showtime, and TVOne. The opening act was social media influencer and YouTuber Zoie Fenty, better known as GotDamnZo. Lastly, the show was headlined by Darren “Big Baby” Brand, known for his casting on MTV’s hit series ‘Wild’N Out’ for over six seasons. Every seat was filled in the auditorium, reaching full capacity. Students roared in laughter as the three comedians delivered punchlines and performed act-outs that captured well-known styles of comedy.
