Spotlight Programs Board is now accepting applications for all committee chairs and executive leader positions for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Spotlight, a university-sponsored, student-driven organization in the Student Center, is the premier event planning entity that serves the university. Spotlight addresses the needs and interests of Georgia State’s diverse student body by providing social, cultural, educational and entertainment events to enhance the quality of student life. Students help plan events that are free and open to the Georgia State community and include concerts, movies, speakers and exposure to local Atlanta attractions.
Spotlight Programs Board is composed of six committees and oversees the student-run Cinefest Film Theater. The board is composed of the executive director, the chairs of seven of these committees and works to fulfill Spotlight’s mission. Seven of the nine committees are responsible for planning and executing quality programs. The Marketing Committee functions primarily as support for the entire board.
Executive board members work with committee members and advisors to choose events to plan and implement throughout the year. Job duties include, but are not limited to, negotiations with agents, venue reservations, coordination of event logistics and the development of program budgets. These duties, along with others, are essential to the execution of Spotlight’s events.
